Methane is a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming and climate change. It is emitted from various sources, including the extraction and production of fossil fuels, livestock farming, decomposition of organic waste, and agricultural crops.

The effects of methane pollution are diverse and manifest at different levels. Firstly, methane is a greenhouse gas about 25 times more potent than CO2 over a century. This means it has a significant impact on the greenhouse effect and contributes to global warming. The rise in global temperatures leads to consequences such as glacier melting, rising sea levels, ocean acidification, and changing climate patterns.

  • The air is captured in a specific chambre and introduced in a weak scrubber which performs a first abatement stage of pollutants, generating a fluid (gas + water);
  • The generated fluid is then guided through a shower scrubber, which provides a second level of abatement with pollutants precipitating in water;
  • A third and final stage is the wet deposition (multi-quenching), based on an innovative system, which makes possible to increase the overall abatement efficacy greater than 90%;
  • At the end of the «washing» process, the purified air is reintroduced in the surrounding environment;
  • To increase the efficacy and enable to kill viruses and bacteria and other organic compounds (including GHG), an electro-magnetic field based on UV-X technology is included.

The PROJECT includes the engineering for the installation and testing for the areas defined by SIA and by the customers and all the monitoring activities before and after the installation of the DAC (Direct Air Capture) panel systems in the areas defined and the analysis of the monitored environmental data collected in order to evaluate the performance of the DAC Panel systems in the environment.

The installation of the monitoring systems must be done at the same time as the DAC installations to provide a report of the monitoring data, data that must be produced with the DAC on and off at two-week intervals to highlight the difference of the environment with and without the DAC in operation, a difference that subsequently allows us to quantify the reduction of pollution and CO2.
