Breakthrough in Low-Temperature Geothermal: First Long-Duration Results from Our Modular ORC Technology at AFJET (Türkiye)

The Rob Rockefeller S.C. is pleased to share the first long term results of our low temperature geothermal power technology, developed in our global engineering center and technically coordinated by our partner RePG. This is a proprietary, patented solution co-developed with RePG Enerji Sistemleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. , designed to work where conventional geothermal systems cannot operate efficiently.
Most systems on the market are built for high temperatures and large plants. Our goal has been different: produce electricity from lowtemperature heat that is normally wasted and do it in modular form, close to the places that need it.
Our first long-duration deployment has been installed at AFJET, the municipal geothermal utility of Afyonkarahisar (Türkiye). The unit has run continuously for more than three months and is monitored 24/7 through IoT and SCADA.
Using an advanced low-temperature binary / ORC-based design, the system generates electricity from geothermal water in the 45–70 °C range while staying fully integrated inside an active industrial site. All performance values come from real operation.
This project was intentionally operated at minimum water flow. AFJET provided the smallest available connection so we could validate stability and safety inside the existing network. Even in this conservative setup, the unit delivered stable, measurable power. With larger flows or multiple units total production increases a lot. The water is not consumed: it only transfers heat and returns to the system, which makes the process sustainable.
Measured results
• Net power (avg): ~11.7 kW
• Daily energy: ~281 kWh
• Estimated yearly energy: ~101 MWh
• Thermal input: ~175 kW
• Net efficiency: ~7–8%
• Continuous operation with remote supervision
The value of this milestone is simple: it proves that good performance is possible in a thermal window (ΔT ~20–30 °C) where traditional technologies usually cannot compete. And because the solution is modular, capacity can grow with higher flow or by adding units across different locations.
This technology is a key part of our zero emission intelligent program. All clean energy assets are connected to our AI architecture, AURYNTHEON, which works like a secure digital brain: it reads data in real time, optimizes performance, prevents failures and coordinates energy flows across the network.
The project has been supervised and managed by The Rob Rockefeller S.C. Türkiye Branch, under the leadership of President & CEO Engin AKEL , and carried out together with our Technology Engineering Center Türkiye, led by General Manager Huseyin Karayagiz and technically directed by Chief of Staff Engineer Hasan AYARTURK . Their coordinated work has been essential in achieving this long-term deployment.
This is only the beginning and new deployments are now being prepared.
