R. Rockefeller S.C. and 751 Africa establish strategic cooperation for green transition across Africa
R. Rockefeller S.C. has established a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with 751 Earth Ltd, operating through the 751.Earth Family Group and 751.Africa. The partnership through 751 Africa focuses on Africa, supporting the preparation of green transition, sustainability and climate-finance programmes with governments and international institutions.
Dr. Karen Sumser-Lupson joins the Green Department leadership
Founder and Principal of 751.Earth Family Group, Dr. Karen Sumser-Lupson has been appointed Director for Multilateral Institutional Relations, Sustainability, Green Transition and Innovation within the R. Rockefeller S.C. Green Department. She also serves as Strategic Partner for Global Development & Finance and as institutional representative for designated matters under the cooperation.
Her mandate connects international programme development with the Group’s technical capabilities, including AGS geothermal energy, industrial decarbonisation, original AI software and its engineering network. Institutional engagement includes the World Bank Group, Green Climate Fund, African Union frameworks and the Africa Blue Economy Roundtable, alongside wider United Nations and European programme contexts.
A complementary approach to project development
RRSC contributes technology, engineering and international project coordination. 751 Africa contributes climate-finance origination, public programme structuring, governance, monitoring and evaluation. These capabilities are combined around defined public and industrial needs.
The African programme pipeline includes Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Ghana, Kenya and the Republic of Congo. A first workstream is the Lagos Industrial Decarbonisation Programme, focused on port and industrial applications, heat recovery and geothermal energy.
The initiatives are in preparation and institutional structuring. Technical validation, alignment with public authorities and funded project-specific mandates precede implementation. Each institution retains its own eligibility and funding decisions.
International experience and recognition
Karen brings more than 30 years of experience in maritime governance, Blue Economy, security, environmental protection and international programme evaluation. Her professional record spans African regions, the Indian Ocean, Türkiye and European programmes. Her CV includes work on the IGAD Integrated Maritime Strategy 2030 and the Blue Economy Roadmap for thirteen Overseas Countries and Territories.
Her international roles include Chairman-Commissioner of the African Maritime Safety and Security Agency, International Ambassador of the Africa Blue Economy Roundtable, and contributions to official NATO peace and security publications.
The Africa Blue Economy Roundtable recognised Karen’s contribution to the Blue Economy and to women, young people and coastal communities with the Africa Blue Heroine Award. Her International Ambassador appointment followed in August 2026.
